But it don't sing and dance
And it don't walk
As long as I can have you here with me
I'd much rather be
Forever in Blue Jeans”
The fantastic Neil Diamond has got it right, we all love our jeans, the denim loving Fox In Flats has picked up on this and came up with a style dare for all of us. We had to wear denim for a whole week, morning to night. Sounds easy, right? I thought so too, but it’s not quite as easy as you might think!
Monday – Blue Jeans
Day one, a bit chilly so layered up. Blue skinny jeans, white jumper with grey print and a grey cardi, black suede boots finished it off. And can I just say... what a terrible photo!
A sad day a Smout Shout, our wee bunny passed away so the wearing of denim was more accident than design. Picked up yesterdays jeans, black long sleeved tee and bright green jumper, forgot to take a photo and I was actually amazed I managed to get myself dressed I was in such a bad way.
Wednesday- Backlash Blues
Decided to make an effort, denim mini (hey I have got good legs for a 40 year old!), bright blue tights, navy jumper and my black suede boots. Felt much better for thinking about my outfit and really enjoyed the bright tights!
This was a tough one, I had to go to a networking event and rocking the double denim wasn’t going to cut it. Had my black jeans, white tee and cream cardi on with brown suede boots, then changed into black dress trousers and grey jumper with my denim jacket for the networking
Bring out the brights! Red jeans, leopard print tee and a black cardi with shiny gold shoes. I love these red jeans, they perk me up every time I wear them and are great for making a statement.
Loving the lace today, black skinnys, black tee, cream lace tee on top, black suede boots (I really need some new footwear!). I think this is my favourite outfit of the week, a bit more funky that just a jean and basic top outfit.
Last day of the dare, I was tempted to do a triple denim day (jeans, shirt AND jacket), but I bottled it and went for floral leggings, a pale grey jumper and TBM's denim shirt. He didn't even realise I was wearing his shirt till we went out to get some lunch and I asked if he liked it!
As much as I love jeans I need a bit more variety and should have done more skirts or leggings with a denim shirt or jacket to mix it up a bit. I now know that taking a 'selfie' is not an easy thing to do and something I have to work at, all the more reason to take random snaps of myself! I will also be doing more style dares in the future they are a lot of fun and make you think about your outfits and be a bit more creative. Did you have a go at the style dare too?
