Yesterday I went to the gym and picked up a form to join the creche. I was very impressed by the staff there who were incredibly helpful and encouraged me to put my name down for the first class I want to go to. They said, just pop your name down while you are here, that way you are already booked in and have a reason to come back. Did they know me? Had they seen inside my head and realised I had been putting this off for a few months?! Probably not, but I suspect there are a lot of Mum's (and Dad's too) who are in this position and need that extra bit of encouragement and they were happy to give it.
Step one taken for ME time and it has the bonus that I can get fit at the same time.
Step two is actually doing a few craft projects again. I enjoy sewing and have started knitting, so time to get that out and finish the cardigan for the Bean before our mega baby outgrows it before he has even worn it! I might even speak to my neighbour about learning to crochet, but let's not get too far ahead of myself.
For all you Mama's out there putting off ME time, don't. Just do it. You need time to relax away from the bub, do things that inspire you and make you happy as a person. I'm beginning to realise the longer you put things off the harder it is to get them back. You deserve time to yourself so go out and take it in whatever way you need to.
What do you do for ME time? Gym, crafts, eating choccies in the bathroom so your children don't catch you?
