This little man is 5 months old. 5 MONTHS! How did that happen? He is eating solids, rolling over and over again, grabbing his feet, examining things on the floor or himself in his mirror, lifting his big nappy clad bum up in preparation to crawl, which will be happening soon if I was to guess. He is a joy to look after (most of the time!) and we are trying to get him into a routine in the hopes that he will start to sleep right through the night. (And yes, our house now resembles the baby section of a day care center...).
I'm a bit late jumping on the patterned pants bandwagon but I have finally got myself a pair which I love. Black, grey, white and a pop of neon orange they are amazingly versatile for something so out there! Dressed up with heels and some bling or thrown on with sandals and a tee for running about. They make me very happy!
I recently realised that the aches and pains I have been experiencing weren't just coz I'm an old banger of a woman, it's because my body is tired and over worked and tight and not letting me move like it should. My in laws are currently staying with us so I took full advantage of the free bean-sitting and enjoyed the luxury of heading out to a mid week stretch class. One hour later and I felt like I had been given the best massage in the world! Going to this class isn't going to happen without a baby sitter to hand, so instead, when I have the house back to myself during the week, I plan to do some daily stretching to help me keep on top of this and stop me hobbling round like a 90 year old when I first get up off the sofa.
I have a couple of blogs to share with you, they are both designers/photographers, but look at more than just the arty side of life. Take a look at:
A Pair of Pears is a fabulous blog from a cute couple and their gorgeous dog. Based in LA, these designers share their day to day lives as well as design insights. I love their his and hers posts which show you each of their perspectives on a theme and their tutorials are great fun.
Pink Ronnie is a Sydney mum who writes about her family, photography, design and loads of other things. She openly writes about the loss of her oldest son, which is heart breakingly beautiful, and shares the joy a houseful of boys can bring.
