So in the interest of not looking like a bag lady or living in trackie bottoms, I have been looking at my wardrobe and figuring out what will be suitable to wear and still allow me to breast feed the Bean. I think I need a bit of a uniform, something comfy and practical but makes me feel good about myself. Here is what I've come up with:
Leggings
There are some pretty cool ones out there, they are comfy and sensible but will inject a bit of fun into my day. I've already got a pair of black ones with grey and white flower from last year that I can rock and I have my eye on this combo from Next.
I figure I will need easy access to 'the girls' so a couple of button up shirts will be a good investment. I don't have many just now so as well as the dark denim number above that I have my eye on, I have bought a sheer black and pink leopard print one that I can wear a nursing singlet underneath. Easy to wear with skinny jeans and a cardi if it's chilly.
Jeans
Not sure how I will go with these, obviously I won't fit into my old ones straight away so I'll need to play it by ear, but they will be part of the uniform whatever form they take.
Dresses and skirts
Dresses are out of the question, apart from a fabulous wrap dress I have from Witjuti, but I think maxi skirts can work. I have a couple with elastic waists, but need to figure out what to wear on top with them... maybe the denim shirt again?
I'd love to hear what you did post birth, what worked, what didn't, did you give up and live in your trackies or jamies, or did you get yourself glammed up to feel better?
