Oh yes. Chocolate Brownies. After a suggestion on Facebook I decided to try a new recipe and had a go at making brownies. While I have eaten a few in my time it's one of those things I've never made, so a trawl of the tinternet gave me this recipe. Here's the original, but I changed it a tiny bit and made it this way.
Ingredients
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup chocolate melts/chips
2/3 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup plain flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (don't get essence it's crap!)
4 eggs
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup choc chips
Heat oven to 180/350 degrees
Melt chocolate melts and butter in a double boiler, take off heat to cool slightly
Mix dry ingredients together.
Mix eggs and vanilla into butter and chocolate once it has cooled. (If you don't let it cool you will get cooked eggs, yuck!)
Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients making sure there are no lumps. Add extra choc chips and nuts and mix in.
Pour into greased pan lined with baking paper and cook for 40 mins. To check if it's cooked put a knife in the center, if it comes away clean it's cooked, if not give it a few more minutes.
